Earthquake: Update from Les Cayes

“The conditions are extremely difficult for people here,” 4VEH news reporter Jimmy shares from a makeshift camp where hundreds of families in distress are waiting for aid to arrive.

Thank you for praying after the earthquake hit south-western Haiti on August 14, causing loss of life, injuries and widespread destruction. Les Cayes—where new 4VEH Les Cayes/South 98.5 FM is located—is among the worst-hit areas. All 4VEH ministry (from the north, Cap-Haitien) and in Les Cayes are still on the air, broadcasting urgent news, practical help and Gospel hope to a grieving nation, and mobilizing Haitians to respond.

Expanding Response

As well as broadcasting, we’re expanding our response to send food & hygiene kits, solar radios to families in distress as well as mobilizing medical staff & supplies. Through on-air campaigns, we’re also mobilizing Haitians – listeners, viewers and their families, churches and local organizations – to respond in prayer and generosity to help brothers and sisters in southern Haiti.

Our team began responding minutes after the earthquake with reports from the quake zone. We are purchasing food and relief supplies locally to get to people in need quickly.

So many people need immediate help. Please give generously today.
