There were smiles all around after this mom made a decision to make Jesus her Lord and Savior. The family received a Resounding Hope solar radio, tuned to 4VEH with the audio Bible, from our team. Many other families in this village in northeast Haiti also heard the Gospel and received a solar radio as a parting gift. Each radio connects people every day with lifesaving help, farming and health advice, and the eternal message of the Gospel.
It’s true that more people in Haiti use cell phones now. More are active on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. But there’s still a staggering number of people living without electricity or clean drinking water, without access to basic healthcare and education. And without access to God’s Word in a way they can understand.
Only 30% of Haiti’s population has access to reliable electricity. This is one more reason why we use solar radios—powered by the sun—to give people access to news, farming advice, an encouraging community and to God’s Word.
